Day by Day Program

Day 1 - Arrive Nairobi

Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transfer to Eden Nairobi for the night where the Studio House is booked.

Originally designed and built by Tonio and Anna Trzebinski, Eden offers travelers an immediate connection to a deeply authentic expression of Anna and her family’s home, history and adventures. Set on a four-acre forested property in the peaceful suburb of Langata, the former home has been transformed into a living museum and private gallery space that is filled with the family’s own artworks and creations. The main house features three distinct yet beautifully furnished bedrooms that can comfortably accommodate six guests. The house features a dining room, working fireplace and bar, as well as a large veranda. Tonio’s former art studio offers a separate open plan drawing and dining room area, two en-suite bedrooms and 3 separate studio lofts. The house borders the giraffe sanctuary and is a short drive to the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage and the Karen Blixen Museum.

Day 2 - Nairobi

Today explore Nairobi. Feed the giraffes at the Giraffe Centre followed by a trip into the forest to experience our exclusive Insider Access Activity: Forest Folk Stories with lunch. In the afternoon you will have a private visit with the elephants at the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage.

Take a short walk beneath the canopy of the Oloolua Forest – a dry tropical forest that once would have covered most of this part of Nairobi. The forest was once a hiding place for the Mau Mau Freedom Fighters during the war for independence but today provides a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and is a favorite walking spot for residents. A variety of wildlife still calls the forest its home and your walk will be accompanied by the sound of birds calling from the trees.

As you near the clearing you will hear drums in the distance and a traditional song of welcome calls you in. From the shadows your storyteller appears, their stories seem to weave a spell around you which intermingles with the sounds of the forest. They will pull you into the magic of the tales that have been handed down from generation to generation; stories of great warriors and tricky tortoises that will leave you captivated.

Your lunch is a miniature picnic feast and each bite size delicacy is not only delicious but easy to eat in this beautiful forest setting.

Day 3 - Masai Mara National Reserve

Board your private charter to the Masai Mara, on arrival you will be met by the guides from Mara Nyika and enjoy a game drive into camp.

Located on the private 50,000 acre conservancy Naboisho on the edge of the Masai Mara lies the beautifully intimate Mara Nyika. The superbly sumptuous camp has just five tents positioned under large umbrella acacia trees that line a small seasonal river. The elevated tents and walkways which join the rooms to the main area give the property a 'treetops' feel from which you can sit and admire the wildlife on the plains beyond. Your days will be spent exploring the Naboisho conservancy, which has some of the highest lion numbers in the Masai Mara area, on morning and afternoon game drives as well as getting to know the Masai Tribesmen who call this land their home.

Day 4 & 5 - Masai Mara National Reserve

Spend the next two days exploring the Naiboisho Conservancy on the edge of the Masai Mara. The conservancy has the highest density of lions in the Mara and for each guest there is 350 acres of land ensuring you receive the most exclusive game viewing experience.

Arijiju House is unlike any other safari lodge; indeed its unique architecture mirroring the rock-hewn churches of Lalibela, exclusivity and ultra-luxurious feel inspired the title the most luxurious lodge in Africa. Decked out in European elegance and Africa's rusticity, this stunning retreat located in the wildlife-rich Borana Conservancy in Laikipia offers the ultimate African getaway. Five generous suites have been opulently furnished with large chandeliers, enormous French mirrors, copper bathtubs and oversize leather campaign wardrobes. From a central courtyard, verandas branch out to the swimming pool, gym, spa, tennis and squash courts. While not taking advantage of the house's amazing hospitality, explore Borana on foot, mountain bike, horseback, game drive vehicle or thrilling heli ride. Overnight: Arijiju House Meal Plan: B,L,D
